A carefully planned all day adventure through the best of Nepal’s Annapurna region.
Arrive in Kathmandu, where youβll be greeted and transferred to your hotel. You can relax or explore nearby cultural sites and bustling markets. In the evening, a short briefing about the trek will be conducted.
Take a scenic flight to Nepalgunj, located in the western Terai region near the Indian border. This warm city serves as the gateway to Dolpo. Rest and prepare for the mountain flight the next day.
Fly to Juphal and begin your trek descending through terraced fields and local villages. Follow the Bheri River trail to reach Dunai, the administrative center of Dolpo.
Trek along the Bheri River through narrow gorges and pine forests. Reach Tarakot, an ancient fortress village that once served as a trading post.
Follow a rugged trail along the Tarap Khola river, passing through remote landscapes and small settlements. Overnight at Laini.
Continue through narrow valleys and rocky terrain with dramatic cliffs. The trail becomes more remote as you approach Nawarpani.
Enter the wide and beautiful Tarap Valley, surrounded by barren hills and traditional villages. Dho Tarap is a culturally rich settlement influenced by Tibetan Buddhism and Bon traditions.
Spend the day acclimatizing and exploring the village. Visit monasteries and interact with locals while enjoying the unique culture and landscape.
Begin ascending towards the high mountain passes. The trail becomes steeper as you approach the base camp of Numa La, surrounded by rugged terrain.
One of the most challenging days. Cross Numa La Pass, the highest point of the trek, offering spectacular mountain views. Descend carefully to Pelung Tang.
Cross another high pass, Baga La, with breathtaking views of the Dolpo landscape. Descend through remote valleys to reach Dajok Tang.
Descend through pine forests and alpine terrain until you reach the stunning Phoksundo Lake. Arrive at Ringmo village, known for its traditional culture and scenic beauty.
Spend the day exploring the turquoise lake and its surroundings. Visit nearby monasteries and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this iconic destination.
Begin descending through forests and riverside trails. Pass waterfalls and scenic viewpoints before reaching Chhepka.
Retrace your steps along the Bheri River, passing through familiar villages and landscapes before reaching Juphal.
Take a scenic flight back to Kathmandu via Nepalgunj. Enjoy your return to the city after an adventurous journey.
Relax or explore more of Kathmandu. You may visit UNESCO heritage sites, shop for souvenirs, or enjoy local cuisine.
Your Lower Dolpo adventure concludes. Transfer to the airport for your onward journey.
